Meeting of antibullfighting campaigners to demand the withdrawal of the program, Tendido Cero

Madrid, España. -Following the shameful absence of coverage in the media of the March 28th demonstration against bullfights in Madrid, an antibullfighting collective met the Head of the Office of the Presidency of RTVE, Francisco Javier Pérez, to demand of him the withdrawal of the program, Tendido Cero (a programme about bullfighting) broadcast within the children´s schedule every Saturday morning. The public broadcasting channel insists on its “great animal sensitivity” since it broadcasts “programs about the environment and animal life”, and justifies the showing of bullfighting because “it is informative and bullfighting is a legal fact”. What certainly is a fact is the presence of pro bullfighters within the mostly bullfight supporting government, as well as in the opposition, that promote and try to justify this cruel and disgusting spectacle.
