Frejus, France. – The Frejus bullring will not open again thanks to pressure from diverse antibullfighting groups. The decision was aided when opinion polls revealed that 78 % of the polled are against the financing of bullfights with public money and 62 % opposed to staging bullfights in their city. Finally, the mayor of Frejus, Elie Brun, has made public that bullfights will no longer be organized in the bullring of the town and will only re-open in 2011 for the celebration of cultural events.
