COLBAC responds

Béziers, Francia. – Robert Clavijo, President of the anti-bullfighting Association COLBAC, has responded to the declarations of the Prefect of the region of Languedoc-Rousillon, speaking to the newspaper, ‘Midi Libre,’ in December 2009. In the interview the Prefect declared his passion for the bullfights, which he said “force tears of emotion from him.”
Clavijo accuses the newly named Prefect of wanting to ingratiate himself with the bullfighting world with his affirmations; he reminds the Prefect that the French law condemns bullfights and, specifically, in the Langedoc-Rousillon zone there has been for some time an unstoppable decline of this outmoded spectacle.; He also condemns the Prefect “ for not speaking of the existence of irregularities in the bullfighting business and of the express prohibition of the bullfights in most of the French territory. ”
